Point Defiance Park Loop Trail
Global Contractors LLC was awarded the construction contract for Phase 2 of the Point Defiance Park Loop Trail, a multi-modal safety and accessibility project that builds a paved trail to separate pedestrians and cyclists from vehicle traffic.
The work (a year-long construction phase that began in late May 2025) includes installing the new paved path, associated road closures and detours on Five Mile Drive, and related site improvements to improve access to destinations such as the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Owen Beach, and Fort Nisqually.
The images below depict the installation of new water mains, the creation of water main connections over existing utilities, and the installation of storm systems.
